I am Jeremy, 75 years old from the UK.
I have become interested in the internal arts over the past four years.
I look forward to learning.
Hello Jeremy! How wonderful that you’ve discovered the internal arts - they have so much to offer at any stage of life, and four years gives you a great foundation to build on.
What aspects have drawn you in most? Are you working with a particular style or teacher? Welcome to this journey of discovery!
Thank you.
I am attempting to learn the basics well but have to rely on books and You Tube videos.
It is sometimes difficult to have no one to share practice with or someone to point me in the right direction…no teachers anywhere near.
I am tending to practice Ba Duan Jin and an 8 form Tai chi. and concentrate on the ‘‘feeling’’ part rather than getting it correct all of the time.
I have recently attempted a start on Zhan Zhuang…
As a Soto Buddhist my seated practice is a regular part of week, so I feel some standing will help
I understand - you are doing very well! The Eight Brocades and Zhan Zhuang are very important.
I do have interesting online classes on these topics. I can especially recommend the Wuxing Qigong for stretching the fascia ( I think that’s a very important one):
Also I do plan to add quite some content about Qigong and Zhan Zhuang in this forum
Post about my Qigong practice:
I do have short videos about physical and mental trainings on how to improve finger sensitivity and unlocking hip joints for example - in our Neidan Academy.
I wish you the best on your journey, and I hope this website can support you along the way! Most of the content here is free and does not require a subscription. If anything is unclear, you can always ask here
Good morning.
Thank you for your reply.
After I wrote to you I realised that mypractice really does seem all over the place.
Unfortunately online classes can prove expensive but I suppose it would be the same if I had local classes.
I will have to consider that point.
May I say I am finding the forum incredibly helpful
I may consider subscribing if I can.
Hello Jezz
My name is Richard. I am 56 years old and I have also been practicing Tai Chi and Qi Gong for a few years. For the last 2.5 years, I have been practicing online under the guidance of a Neidan Master. His videos are very well made with very good instruction and explanation. I can only recommend it.
Because some movements, positions… were not quite perfect for me and I couldn’t correct myself well, I decided to take a few private lessons with Michael. I haven’t regretted a minute of it. And that has also moved me a nice piece forward.
I wish you all the best and lots of fun with Tai Chi and Qi Gong exercises
Richard,
Thank you for your welcome and supportive words.
Yes I have decided to follow Master Neidan.
Living in a rural area guidance is non existent
Again thank you your message
Jeremy
Hi Richard! Thanks so much for your wonderful feedback; it really made my day! Training with you was a pleasure
I wanted to let you know that I’m planning to add German subtitles to our videos going forward. In fact, I just posted the first one over in Neidan Academy here - The Lizard Walk. It’s part of the subscription content, but I think you’ll find it worth it. The exercise is fantastic for getting fit fast, and it’s especially great for folks who are a bit older, as it allows you to work at your own pace and intensity. Also highly recommended for @Jezz! Give it a try!
I will attempt it! I will let you all know if I need help to get up
