When the last student left my Vienna training hall in 2020 and I locked the doors for what seemed like the final time, it felt like an ending. The wooden floors that had absorbed years of sweat and dedication fell silent. The space where I’d watched beginners become advanced practitioners, where our community became family, stood empty.
But sometimes what looks like an ending is actually a transformation.
From Ashes to Innovation
I didn’t let a pandemic destroy what I’d spent decades building. As a 16th generation lineage holder of Wudang San Feng Pai, I carry a responsibility that goes beyond running a school. I’m the guardian of authentic Daoist martial arts teachings passed down through centuries, knowledge that can’t be allowed to fade.
So instead of giving up, I innovated.
The new Wudang Academy isn’t just a replacement for my physical school in Vienna. It’s something far more powerful—a complete digital ecosystem that brings authentic Wudang internal martial arts to anyone, anywhere in the world.

Here’s the reality: most online martial arts platforms are glorified video libraries. You watch, you try to copy, you struggle alone, you quit.

How I Got Here
My journey to this point reads like something from a martial arts movie, except it’s all real.
I started training at 13, putting in 4-6 hours every single day while other teenagers were playing video games. I studied Hap Ki Do with Grandmaster Lee Chang Soo in South Korea. I learned Pencak Silat from an ex-Vietcong hero in Vietnam. I mastered Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, Kyokushinkai Karate, and Muay Thai.
But my real calling waited in China’s mystical Wudang Mountains.
For three years, I trained under Masters Yuan Xiu Gang and Chen Xiangwen in the traditional San Feng style. Unlike most foreigners who train in special “Western-friendly” classes, I trained with the Chinese children in the real traditional program—where mistakes meant consequences and dedication meant everything.
I became the only foreigner in over 12 years to complete the actual traditional training program. I earned my lineage holder status and my Taoist name: 魏懋资济 (Wèi Mào Zī Jì)—Master Ziji.
That name carries weight. It means I’ve dedicated my life to representing and preserving these teachings with integrity.
Not Your Typical Online School
What died in 2020 was the limitation of geography. What was born is accessibility without compromise.
The student in rural Canada who always dreamed of learning authentic Wudang arts? They’re training with me daily now.

I’m openly critical of what’s happened to Wudang schools in China. Most have become tourist attractions, teaching watered-down versions designed for weekend visitors, not serious practitioners. The real traditional methods—the ones that took me years to master—are being lost.
